The thing they don't want you to know is that you could pick entry-level tech workers by firing a nerf gun into a room filled with empathetic, curious people with a penchant for abstraction and you'd fare better than any number of hacker-ranking coding tests.

But she's smart and kind and thoughtful. She interviewed better than the techies, so I took a chance and hired her.
