Democrats need to think this way, but they are also incapable of it, because as a party their entire purpose and mission is to use the guise of "bipartisanship" and "collaboration" to accomplish the GOP's goals while still feeling good about themselves.

My advice for Democrats is to think about what Mitch McConnell would do if he had a one vote majority and an opportunity to put a 35 year old Scalia on SCOTUS, and then do whatever he would do to make that happen.
