Before sci-fi was everywhere, this pioneering magazine championed 'scientifiction'

The April 1926 issue of Amazing Stories hit newsstands in March of that year. The cover art by Frank R. Paul illustrated the Jules Verne tale "Off On a Comet."

The name didn't stick. The fan communities did.
