The April 1926 issue of <!-- raw HTML omitted -->Amazing Stories<!-- raw HTML omitted --> hit newsstands in March of that year. The cover art by Frank R. Paul illustrated the Jules Verne tale "Off On a Comet."

The name didn't stick. The fan communities did.
