Alito's draft opinion explicitly criticizes Lawrence v. Texas (legalizing sodomy) and Obergefell v. Hodges (legalizing same-sex marriage). One principle difference between Dems and the GOP is that if the GOP has a good idea (RomneyCare) Dems look to co-opt it (Affordable Care Act).

If Dems have a good idea (child tax credit) the GOP looks to destroy it, before anybody figures out government can work.

McConnell confided to a friend last year he was unnerved about Biden’s child tax credit.

He thought the program could catch on with voters if it ran long enough. Then it’d be next to impossible for the GOP to dislodge it even w/a majority in Congress

@RussellGlasser Well, as I sat down to implement my idea, @Geimkisi looked over my work and had a great suggestion that ends up being relatively simple:

See Example 6.
TL;DR: use first/last child to *set* top/bottom margins instead of remove them. Use those, not padding.

@NfNitLoop ("Cody C. #BLM") replied to a tweet by @RussellGlasser:

@RussellGlasser Yep, this is for #FeoBlog (https://github.com/NfNitLoop/feoblog)

The content inside of the block is usually markdown that’s been rendered into HTML. That does limit the element types to something I could manage with explicit rules, was just hoping CSS had a nicer built-in for consistent pad.

@zkat__ Sadly, the vehemence with which someone asserts how a thing works has little correlation with reality. So I find discussing such things in person annoying.

But my doc can have links to the receipts. 😜

@NfNitLoop ("Cody C. #BLM") replied to a tweet by @NfNitLoop:

@zkat__ I find lately that in a meeting with N people, you'll have roughly 2N ideas about how a thing does/did/should/shall work and the likelihood of them being in alignment is slim. So getting all this in writing somewhere that everyone can reference is super useful.

@NfNitLoop ("Cody C. #BLM") replied to a tweet by @zkat__:

@zkat__ Once something gets to this size, I put it in a wiki or Google Doc.

The nice thing is people can highlight parts and leave comments about parts they have questions/feedback on. Then you can close their comments & update doc. Better than branching e-mail threads.
