If you are an engineer whose team owns a product or system, yes you should be "on-call" for its functionality

But, only during your daylight hours

Then you should pass it to someone else in another timezone

I knew software engineers didn't want to do it for a reason

But now that I'm on the other side, it's even more apparent how much ops engineers are abused

I haven't been on-call for a year, and I don't know if I can go back
