Prison abolition is an extension of slavery abolition (to me). Prison was/is an invention of white supremacy & capitalism. It functions to vanish a large portion of the unwanted population (Black, Brown, Indigenous) while also creating a free labor pool.

Rape and sexual assault have one of the lowest conviction rates out of all crimes and its perpetrators make up one of the smallest percentages in prison. So what’s being done about rapists with the existence of prison? Not much, seemingly.
