the only twitter feature i want is that you click a button and it shows you the accounts you follow that haven't tweeted in three months or whatever and asks if you want to unfollow

after ten years there's a lot of dead sediment in there that i can't reach!

I’m not sure if I’m doing a good job. But I’m trying to give my answer to this basic question. Why do I think white peoples perceptions are unreliable when it comes to racial analysis? Because they do not seek to control their deeply held bias that we are unworthy by default.

It crept into so many of the exchanges I had. That feeling of contempt at the very idea that Black people could’ve earned anything we have. It wasn’t clear whether the people saying it even noticed. What they chose to believe had a lot to do with confirming this pre-existing bias

I don’t expect twitter to be the best representation of a wider population. But I do think there is something to be learned from the responses I got to this question. Not just that where people are resentful, but it’s partly because they believe we are undeserving.

I’ve been trying to figure out if the reality that white people live in feels like that to them. I’ve been trying to be open to that possibility.
