Also a reminder that Dwarf Fortress removed something called the "Dwarven Economy" many years ago because it... simulated Capitalism too well, so dorfs ended up homeless because of increasing rents, and the rich just kept getting richer. They removed it, and the game's still good

This means that Dwarf Fortress is a universe where there's a few critical jobs that need doing, that multiple dorfs can occasionally share to lift the burden, but otherwise, life is about enjoying life and fulfilling their dreams (and also drinking a lot of alcohol in the tavern)
