Thanks to Swanson's Law, if we assume SMRs might be practical in a decade's time, the price of solar PV panels will be ~1/4 what it is now.

So a 1.5MW SMR will be competing with <$500k Solar PV farms, which will also use less land area as crystalline silicon PV improves

SMRs are an interesting technology, *if* they work.

But after decades of research they're still a nascent, emerging technology which probably isn't going to arrive soon enough to be a big player in decarbonization.

And even then, the cost will be much higher than Solar PV.
