Finally got the booster by visiting a walk-in site when I happened to be in Manhattan (Chelsea, a very wealthy neighborhood). But it's not just covid. Local Walgreens kept me waiting 6 hrs once for a common prescription. Had to bike to a whiter neighborhood for a flu shot.
