Early on in my career, I stopped fighting the static/dynamic battle because I realized different brains needed different things, after reading Coders@Work and realizing that every single person interviewed was a highly esteemed programmer and they just clicked diffnt with langs

Sometimes the problem determines which approach you choose (see: aerospace, finance)

Other times, it’s your programming language (Haskell and Rust mostly “just work” when you’ve thought through and “proven” your problem. Python/JS are iterative)

Sometimes it’s just your brain.

Sometimes it’s more like a flowing river, looking for the natural path of least resistance and having a conversation with your environment
