3. Iron Harvest. I want to enjoy a new RTS campaign as much as I still enjoy StarCraft. The production values are great but I just wasn't loving the gameplay. In the five hours I played, the game felt too focused on skirmishes with not enough macro.

4. Marvel's Avengers. I like platforming and I like Marvel. Kamala Khan is a good character. But the combat system felt overloaded with arbitrary complexity, never as fun or intuitive as Arkham games. What really killed it for me was spending time on trivial equipment upgrades.

2. Sam and Max VR. Just got this one for Christmas, it has so-so reviews and they are accurate. Some cool stuff, but a lot of obnoxious adventure game logic that you have to guess at, and the humor is pretty hit or miss. Also fairly short.

5. Star Wars: Squadrons. Played it in VR. A cool experience but it just never felt very deep. Maybe I just don't like dogfighting sims. The solo campaign feels like my AI teammates do all the work when I win. I didn't dare try the PvP mode.

1. Loop Hero. Fun game, interesting concepts. Put a lot of hours into it. Got to be a bit of a slog. The systems were a little opaque and I wound up looking up a lot of stuff rather than wait for trial and error to figure out everything.

I'm not like a relationship expert but the best advice I can give is: figure out all of the little things your partner hates doing and you don't mind doing and just quietly, without fanfare, do all of those things
