Getting serial working is always fraught with peril and numerous failure modes. You never know if it's a dodgy cable, swapped tx/rx, wrong baud rate, bad UART init, wrong macOS tty...
Or in my case, incorrect push/pop register ordering in my BORROW_READ syscall stub, sigh!
