Arrests are very disruptive to people's lives and can result in lost jobs, etc., even if the DA never brings charges. This state occupation of Austin does nothing but harm.

Got a report last night on the DPS patrols in Austin. Lots of garbage arrests including marijuana possession and less than a gram POCS. No one discussed with the Sheriff, so Central Booking was a cluster this weekend. A lot of the DPS arrests are rejected by prosecutors up front.
