I don't agree. It feels like tech increasingly wants to convince people that geography is no longer a factor we have to consider. I don't think that's even a good theoretical goal for lots of different reasons.

@lizthegrey It's very weird to me that the industry has settled on a model where customers by default have to think about zones and regions themselves. As long as data doesn't cross legal boundaries only a tiny handful of cloud customers have any reason to care about which regions they're in
