Time for another PSA that in Vietnamese, chị/em (big'sis/lil'sis) are two pronouns used between female friends. They indicate no blood kinship whatsoever, it's like using "I" and "you".
Thanh and Giang in Fireheart Tiger are not related nor seeing each other as blood sisters.
