I’m thinking about this a lot when it comes to crypto. It feels so clear to me that this is happening on a massive scale. So many true idealists are working to enable the harms in the crypto community. When you ask them about that, they hand wave and talk about future ideals.

A friend once told me that the magic of SV is that it’s populated with both sociopaths and idealists who have decided to work together towards a common goal. The idealists often see their vision co-opted into something harmful. The only question is how self-aware they are.
