Remember we talked about this idea before. It often seems that white people have a hard time metabolizing pain. They can't accept sustained trauma. And part of the culture of Whiteness is making things that are uncomfortable go away.

I'm wondering if that's a key part of the through-line here. White folks don't have the ability to tolerate discomfort in an ongoing, sustainable way. We don't have the ability to keep working at stuff that doesn't easily resolve in the way we need to.
