Texas DOT also has a public awareness campaign about the fact that it hasn’t gone a single day without someone dying on its highways in about two decades. State DOTs are terrible and Texas’ is as bad as any.

It is laughable that TxDOT could be seen as any sort of a competent, efficient organization. TxDOT has spent billions on making deadly roads (Texas is home to 2 of the 5 deadliest highways in the US), and has blown out budgets multiple times over boondoggle highways.
