the thing I think about whenever people say “satire has to be obvious to everyone or it’s bad” is that when Jonathan Swift published “A Modest Proposal” a lot of people got mad at him. And some people even thought it was a good idea.

One of my favorite things about twitter is when people take an extremely obvious joke at face value then double down super hard.
