- If you're keeping the lines sketchy, overlapping long lines tend to be more expressive than many tiny lines linked together. The former prioritizes the flow that the line is trying to convey, rather than the line itself. (An example of a potted plant below; tiny scratchy lines are technically close to the shape but feel janky, while long flowing lines preserve the feel of the plant even if they're not 100% accurate.)
