- A pose feels more natural if the whole leg is aligned in the foot's direction. The side-to-side rotation of the ankle joint is limited, and it is not often rotated alone. (Examples of poses where the the foot and the knee are pointed in different directions, which I find uncomfortable to do IRL, versus poses where they are aligned, which have a more solid foundation.)
