Next #iOS app milestones are multi-account login and iPad support (don’t ask me to what I’ll change the “for iPhone” part of the app name, I don’t know)
I moved the bird feeders around and refilled them and now the birds refuse to use them because they are too suspicious.
Little dumb dumbs.

actually, I don't need a lot of cycles to do plain old Blender work? I can just remote-render on my main machine when it's time to do something heavy. So maybe "good enough for simple graphics work" is what I need here, so I can use my nice peripherals 🤔

@zkat I do this every day; my main machine is super underpowered (works great with noscript and stuff) but I connect to a beefy machine over SSH and do all my dayjob work that way.

anyone else have a setup like this? I don't need to do any gaming directly on the laptop, aside from relatively simple games. Though I guess it would work on all the graphics work (because peripherals don't work well over remote desktop), so maybe that's a dealbreaker too :(

I don't know why it didn't occur to me before, but maybe I should just get a nice, simple, portable laptop without a bunch of bells and whistles that can handle a bit of offline rustc work (even if slow), and just remote desktop into my Very Beefy Alienware Gaming Machine?

hello I have reviewed the available laptops that I could upgrade my MBP to and have determined there is no such thing as a good laptop that can handle graphics work, compilation-heavy work (thanks rustc!), runs windows, and doesn't weight a fucking ton?

Battery swapping for EVs might be coming back around as an acceptable idea. Although, mostly for fleet vehicles this time.
I realize battery life has improved a bit (both short term and the full life of battery), but battery life is a deterrent for anybody who keeps their cars for long periods of time. Instead of having to own the batteries, just lease as you go.
(Of course, drastically reducing our dependence on cars would be even better.)
We have been working on a TUI list component for Bubble Tea recently, and I'm so proud of what we built here! Pagination, fuzzy filtering, auto-generated help, an activity spinner, status messages: comes with batteries included!

no, not even that little bit.
Don't even try.
It's bad. Please don't do it.

Simultaneously adore eyre and also think crates like that end up doing more harm than good in the medium-term (they do come back around in the long run tho)

It's like... actually rust errors are good. Are they naturally ergonomic? Absolutely not.
And if you try and get folks to use the most ergonomic version (anyhow, eyre), you've now taught them how to make their library errors extremely bad, and pulled them away from nice ones?
