Happy World Standards Day, a day where the entire world celebrates international standardization... well, the entire world except the US, which celebrates this on October 22nd 😂

At the same time it was exciting, like wow, a real geist.
Had a vivid dream where I lived in a haunted apartment, and I got haunted. It was scary. The geist had (been?) suffocated and was doing things to me that felt like that.

if you're planning on using #tic80 you might want to build from source since I just fixed a bug that prevented the eval command from working: https://github.com/nesbox/TIC-80/pull/1633
It's become quite a bit more complicated since I posted that screenshot, but it is ready now.

@technomancy @brennen No disagreement there. Taking action on that isn't quick, however. :)

@cstanhope @brennen somewhat agree but in most cases the smart thing to do in that situation is to find somewhere else to work where you *can* have a shot at bringing complexity back down into tolerable levels.
certainly not smart to assume everyone around you has the same complexity tolerance levels as you do.
cstanhope@social.coop ("Charles Stanhope") wrote:
@technomancy @brennen In an ideal situation, perhaps. But being "smart" doesn't make somebody able to decide their priorities in a work situation. And even if they could, they might decide on their own that reducing complexity isn't the highest priority thing. (Says the not-so-very-smart person dealing with what is possibly their complexity limit.) :/

I was thinking about building a new workstation, or upgrading my current one but the GPU shortage makes it pretty much impossible to do without getting a pre-built or something like it.
Question: Are there any decent prebuilt companies that don't use proprietary hardware and historically have decent linux support?
