It turns out that dwarves that get a Strange Mood might demand specific kinds of cloth or metal instead of using whatever is to hand. I had a 6 year old demand silk, which was impossible to get ahold of quickly. I set up a task to get people searching for the raw material but also decided to start getting a tomb ready.
