Perhaps Fedi (e.g. Mastodon) vs company-owned for-profit social networks (e.g. FB,TW) will provide (some of) that answer.

Or, the former might become the latter (“You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain”) 😆

As much as I like all the fanciful keycap color schemes for mechanical keyboards, IMO the brands that show the most psychological insight are the ones that offer dark beige on beige color schemes.
