First try using my new gouache palette. They are definitely more beginner friendly than the basic ones in tubes I picked up two years ago. I am surprised how little product goes a long way.
The painting is just a kind or redraw of an older pen doodle I did last year. 😅 Didn't want to spend much time thinking about what to draw and just start using the gouache.

- Anime style portrait painting done with gouache. A girl with short brown hair and pink eyes is smiling and looking at the viewer. The inside of er hair is pink. She is wearing a shoulder free flowy dress, reflecting the background. Dark blue night sky with sparkling stars. She is placed in front of a dark blue square, a pink glowing crescent moon is reaching over the borders of the square. (remote)

I find Fred Wilson's posts often thoughtful so here are his predictions for 2023.

- Text page: Earth's moon is unusually large for the planet it orbits. As the junior partner in the team, Luna exerts a strong influence on Earth. And not only in the form of tidal forces or as romantic night light: In 1000 years, the rotation of the Earth around its own axis will be slowed down by 0.016 seconds/day. Conversely, the rotation of the Moon is coupled to its orbit, which is why we always see the same side. But due to its energy loss, it moves away from Earth by about 3.8 cm every year. Venus and Mercury, on the other hand, are the only planets in our solar system without moons, which is also related to their proximity to the Sun. (remote)

I'm surprised at how little tissue you need to provoke the segmentation clock and HOX gene expression to make a series of somites.
