It is, of course, facile to say that Developer Experience doesn't matter (which is why I don't say that and never have).

At the same time, we can clearly see that a frontend culture that has decided that Developer Experience should win tiebreaks is morally bankrupt.

At this limit, this *should* trend towards "fsck DX", but only to the extent that DX has fsck'd users first.

We can be pretty damned sure that there's no such thing as an efficient market because I've seen a decade of sites that replaced functional web experiences with gobs and gobs of JS at treble the price.

Finished a big, three-part article in which Hillel Wayne spends inordinate amount of rigorous effort to answer the question if software engineering is engineering.

https://www.hillelwayne.com/post/what-we-can-learn/

If you care about the subject, please read it. It contains more factual analysis than all opinionated articles you've read before.

P.S. I also happen to agree with his conclusions on a purely subjective level.

WTF is wrong with these ppl? whoever last signed for something classified & then handed it to the [President | Vice-President] ***and then forgot about it*** also needs to be held to account… for being a serious dumb-a$$.
