Come to think of it, I've yet to work on a project where the schedule was created before dates were decided. On the rare occasions where a schedule came first, the schedule was scrapped and a new one created to fit a recently decided deadline. :/

I mean, it's dated, but there's still valuable lessons in there that should be evaluated within the context of today's environment.

One of the biggest lessons for me and others is that adding people to a project isn't necessarily going to fix your schedule (which was usually derived from having a deadline imposed from "someone" and then everybody actually responsible for delivering something filling in details that magically fit the deadline to please "someone").
