My pet conspiracy theory: Google pushed flat #design trend (Material) to even out the design playing field — to their level, limited by CSS in old browsers.
Google couldn't match the pixel perfect gorgeous skeumorphic graphics Apple did, or multi-layered glossy gradients of Windows, so they've tricked Apple and Microsoft into abandoning their unique styles in favor of flat rectangles and plain text that anybody can imitate.

It's like saying farts are necessary for trousers to exist. They often occur near each other, but one is smelly and the other useful.

For me, scenes like this are where the game really shines. The simple graphics enhance the mystery of an animate skeleton sitting on a throne behind jail bars in a shrine at the bottom of the ocean. It says that "all misfortunes emanate" from the pit of Giaga but it never identifies itself.

oh my god I forgot that some enemies have the Limbo spell, which ejects the target from both combat AND your party.
You have to go all the way back to Aliahan and pick them up at the place where you set up your party
#Renault #MeganeEtech has a terrible flaw: it does not have an emergency release of the charging cable.
If the car software locks up, which mine just did, there's physically no way to override it and the charging cable stays permanently locked to the car. Confirmed with the manufacturer.
There is a release latch in Zoe. Every other car maker has one. Renault Megane E-tech does not. Software reset required unplugging 12V battery AND pulling out fuses to disconnect the inverter.

Dragon Warrior 3's world map is vaguely based on ours and their version of vaguely sakoku-era Japan is so funny. There's a western-style priest there complaining about how he's not making any headway in spreading the good word & they don't have any inns open in town. You have to go stay in this little building on the mainland
