I liked it.. A lot...

It was good to see Ke Huy Quan (who I will always fondly remember as "Short Round" and that awkward inventive kid in Goonies) all grown up. And the whole rest of the cast, especially Michelle Yeoh, was great.

I have trouble watching movies these days, and not just because of finding the available time. But I'm glad I found the time to see this one. If it's the last movie I see, I'm okay with that.

I find myself in the rare situation of being able to watch a film all the way through in one sitting with no interruptions. This might be the only opportunity this year... I have a huge backlog of films that I will likely never watch (I'm learning to accept this), so the pressure is high... I'm thinking I'll watch "Everything Everywhere All at Once". 🤔

With all the recent announcements of bullshit as a service from well known tech companies, I finally made time to read "On the Dangers of Stochastic Parrots".

It is worth a read even if it is just to know that these companies absolutely had forewarning about the dangers of what they were about to do.

another lesson this definitely points to is that we need to rediscover the old-fashioned joys of actually doing alpha (engineering insiders), beta (reasonably tech savvy insiders), AND gamma (just ordinary not particularly knowledgeable potential outside users) testing.

we’ve lost our way in product testing, we’ve forgotten our definitions.
