“Jones Emberson 1
Planetary nebula Jones-Emberson 1 is the death shroud of a dying Sun-like star. It lies some 1,600 light-years from Earth toward the sharp-eyed constellation Lynx. About 4 light-years across, the expanding remnant of the dying star's atmosphere was shrugged off into interstellar space, as the star's central supply of hydrogen and then helium for fusion was finally depleted after billions of years.”

“Russian President Vladimir Putin likely continues to suffer from confirmation bias… The Financial Times (FT) cited unnamed officials close to the Kremlin stating that Putin assesses that “Russia is more committed to the war than the West is to Ukraine and [is] resilient enough to see out the economic pain.” Unnamed Kremlin sources also told FT that Putin’s demands for loyalty over competence among elites is forcing them to refrain from being honest with him about the progress of the war”

“The Kremlin appears to be setting conditions for false flag operations on the Chernihiv Oblast international border and in Moldova ahead of the one-year anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine… Such a false flag operation could also aim to fix Ukrainian forces at the northern border in an effort to weaken Ukrainian defenses in eastern Ukraine and preparations for counter-offensive operations.”

@owa If you can't afford to help in that way, spreading the word, helping them lobby local governments and regulators, and even volunteering to help improve their web presence can make a huge difference.

Check out their discord and see how you can perhaps be a part of shaping the future of the web for the better.

The folks over at @owa are doing the most important work on and for the web right now. For several years they've been flat-out, full-time, without pay to make browser competition a reality on the mobile web.

Having achieved things I could have only hoped for 2 years ago (DMA mandates engine choice!), they're finally looking to raise a bit of cash to keep going.

If you work on the web, supporting them is an absolute no-brainer:

This night we didn't have a coherent dinner and everyone was eating their favorite leftovers… Except me. I decided, on a spur of the moment, to try making "Cacio e Pepe" (look it up). And of course it turned out to be watery, not creamy at all, and my cheese got clumpy and rubbery. So now I'm on a quest to teach myself to make this recipe perfect! Wish me luck :-)

I started up Scarlet/Violet to do the new 7 star raid and immediately spotted a shiny Hoppip right by the pokestop where I left off

While it's still fun finding shinies in S/V, I'm a little conflicted about how common they are even compared to P:LA. Since you can see them on the overworld, I think I would've been fine with it if they had reduced the odds back down to 1/8192

There's some people out there systematically trying to push the boundaries of who can be granted copyright and patents to extend to "artifical intelligences". I can only think of one reason why anybody would want that: new avenues for rent seeking and automating the creation of IP land mines.*
