- A picture of an ADB Extended Mouse 2 on a cutting mat, with cable looped tidily next to it. The mouse is an apple platinum beige colour, with its single button replaced with an inverted T layout suspiciously identical to that from an Apple Extended Keyboard II. The single button appears to have no actual replacement. This is technically Apple's first no-button mouse. You wonder how it might click and drag, or click at all, and begin to hyperventilate... 1996: Charles Jacobi and his team are hired by General Mills to create a total conversion for the already-dated Doom engine that is released in CD-ROMs inside cereal boxes: Chex Quest
1997: General Mills hires them to create Chex Quest 2 which is rushed to production and only ever released on their web site, presumably downloaded primarily by users of Netscape Navigator 4.x; it is pulled down before long
2008: Charles Jacobi creates a 3rd episode and remasters the first two and releases them all together as a free download on his personal web page
now the thing I'm wondering is like ... did he go back to General Mills and ask permission to distribute a derivative of the first two games he created? and if so ... how on earth did that conversation go?

chex quest is one of those things you figure you must have hallucinated because it's so vivid and so impossible, but somehow
chex quest is real

I'm playing with natural language processing "embeddings" algorithm to discover related tags and synonyms for lib.rs categorization.
Debugging of machine learning is hard. It either works, or it's a word salad, with no clue why. Even when it works, I don't know if it could work better, because visualizing a million points in 300-dimensional sphere is kinda hard.

- Small open sketchbook showing a black and green pen bust drawing of a demon woman with pointy ears, looking at the viewer. She has long green hair, flowing over her shoulders, covering her chest. She is grinning, sticking out her long split tongue, big bat wings come from her head, slightly looming around her head and shoulders. Her eyes and lips are pink. Behind her a rough shaded black square for contrast. (remote)
