I guess it's time to say it that I recently resumed my regular #running after a 2-year hiatus. The reason for which — an injured knee — is still present but with after some treatments I can now run for 5 miles without it getting painful. Still slow, and I'm not sure I'll be able to run any faster any time soon, but I'll get that over not running at all.
Getting back to my old trails actually felt very nostalgic :-)

hello australian fedi users, a mate of mine is on a visa looking for farm work so they don’t get deported, they have to have something lined up in the next three weeks.
they live in sydney and are willing to go wherever, but looking into eg tassie the wages won’t cover accommodation, they actually need a job that will fill their belly and let them live indoors, as well as being in “rural australia”
does anyone have any leads? boosts appreciated!

I dunno why you folks even bother talking to these people to try and convince them to come to Mastodon. It's the classic example of "feature" versus "bug."
You think Mastodon being shitfuck impossible to monetize is a feature; I happen to agree with you. Official America? Thinks it's a bug.
And that is NEVER going to get better, until one of you surrenders.

Such an important observation!
"Ad-driven social media platforms are willing to tolerate monumental volumes of abusive users [because] hate and fear drives engagement, and engagement drives ad impressions.
Mastodon is not an ad-driven platform. There is absolutely zero incentives to let awful people run amok in the name of engagement."
