It was late May. So I planted the remaining of my marjoram seeds outside as a Hail Mary, and after two months of caring and fretting, it's grown strong to the first harvest.
Yay Fediverse! :-)

This year I planted some in a pot on a windowsill, and it successfully germinated. And then died. Twice. Frustrated, I complained on the #Fediverse, and surprisingly a kind soul directed me to a help line of my local library which provides gardening advice. Reader, I couldn't even think such a thing existed!
There I was told that growing marjoram inside was "difficult", which I understood was a euphemism for "don't", but gave me hope I could still try and plant it outside this year. (cont.)

This is marjoram. I used it to make a most perfect pot of shchi. There's a Story behind it, so sit comfortably and listen!
A few years ago marjoram disappeared from all the grocery stores around me. The reason, as I was told, was basically that nobody knew what it's for and it didn't sell. Since apparently it wasn't coming back, I decided to grow my own. It didn't go well. Too much water, too little water, too many slugs, wrong soil... Gardening is not easy. But I persisted. (cont.)

life is extra surreal for french speakers right now because in french, phonetically, “chat gpt” sounds exactly like “cat, i farted” (chat, j’ai pété). everywhere, on TV, in the news, people going “cat, i farted” over and over with a straight face. is cat, i farted going to steal your job? how are schools dealing with cat, i farted? lawyer caught using cat, i farted. it’s incredible.

@deadsuperhero @rnd @drq @ZySoua @cwebber @evan @Gargron I have been largely keeping out of the debate about #fediverse “governance”. As someone who has participated in OSS governance systems I see the value of them and I do think a #fediverse foundation could be a good idea. More importantly I think now that the overall #activitypub system is being used so much more there will be a need to revise and extend the protocol and for that we will need @w3c activity (workshop / working group).
