Side note : when you get something new, try to get a manual in PDF form straight away. Store them all together in a "Manuals" folder, because the paper ones will absolutely get lost, and when an item is no longer manufactured, you may not be able to download a copy either!

I'm following the devastating news from Slovenia, where one month's worth of rain fell in 24 hours. It's the biggest natural disaster in the young country's 32-year history. Large parts of the country are flooded. I can't even begin to imagine the time and money needed to recover from this.
But it's hard to find non-Slovenian coverage of this disaster. Press agencies like Reuters and AP are reporting it, but newspapers in, say, Germany or the US aren't picking it up.

What I truly hate however is how they’ve priced lower income people out of the rental market and driven up housing costs in many areas. They’re an insidious sort of gentrification that extends far past city limits. If it were up to me Airbnb would be banned.

If one more person tells me that #COVID19 is here to stay so we just need to move on, I can't be held responsible for my reaction. Auto accidents are here to stay--we use seatbelts and pay more for cars with airbags. Severe weather is here to stay--we protect ourselves by monitoring conditions and changing plans. STOP IGNORING COVID. We “live with it” by adjusting for the risks (Long COVID, disabilities, and long-term health impairments), not pretending it doesn't exist!
