In 2021, clang added this warning:
> Mixing declarations and code is incompatible with standards before C99
It's so sad that this has to exist, and people still need to bend over for 30-year-old compilers, or recent Microsoft compilers.

The one thing which really surprised me about alt text is how many people without any visual impairment also read them.
People who don't "need" it still look for it.
It makes some sense, too. Often I include why I added the image, along with an explanation of what it means.
I'm sure that does help everyone understand faster and easier.

Apple's whole App Store model, which defines a huge chunk of the modern world, relies on a chain of trust and safety based on individuals internal to Apple, with no external oversight. What happens when a future Apple CEO, or head of App Store, decides to act inappropriately, anticompetitively, or maliciously, or to put in place structures that disadvantage some developers in favor of others (or Apple)? This is why regulation and external accountability is essential

“American officials say they have multiple strands of intelligence — including infrared satellite data — indicating that the deadly blast at a Gaza hospital on Tuesday was caused by Palestinian fighters.
The intelligence includes satellite and other infrared data showing a launch of a rocket or missile from Palestinian fighter positions within Gaza. American intelligence agencies have also analyzed open-source video of the launch showing that it did not come from the direction of Israeli military positions, the officials said. Israeli officials have also provided the United States with intercepts of Hamas officials saying the strike came from forces aligned with Palestinian militant groups.”
