Re Optus - they’re saying there’s no indication it is cyber related. The outage is continuing.
They have apparently lost the RAN stack on mobile on all masts which is not a good sign. They’ve also lost fixed line and IP services.

I'm starting to understand more clearly that part of a senior dev's moral and ethical obligation is to speak up about overcomplications, dangerous assumptions, narrow thinking, and overwork. Basically to use our own history as a cautionary tale.
Our role in this very excitable industry is encouraging our teammates to stop and breathe for a sec. Nothing to do with knowing the code. It's about knowing the pain points and the hazards.

A lot of us have left amateur radio, but haven't forgotten what amateur radio was supposed to be about. All of us - and a growing number of organizers and leaders - are thinking much broader and much more inclusive, picking up #opensource teams, industry groups, and authentically and kindly serving people that legacy and traditional organizations have forgotten, hate on, or outright exclude.
On the "naughty list" are #ARDC, #ARRL, and #AMSAT. Odd how they all start with the letter "A".

@gwynnion No no no this is not that simple. The attack happened bc of Hamas. He's at fault for not having the army protecting the boundaries well enough. I can't stand him but he did not do the attack, he did let it happen though, but please don't remove the fault from Hamas. Hope he resigns. I'm speaking as an Israeli.
