You don't have to give Apple the benefit of the doubt in 2023; they're rabidly anti-web and anti-browser-choice. Remember, Apple makes *billions* a year from the web, and re-invests the tiniest fraction of that back into Safari, all while holding back competitors that might deliver real competition with their native app platforms. It's all of a putrid piece:

@pzmyers as someone from a UK uni, the whole 'murican university sports scene is utterly bonkers. We had various teams, no-one knew how they'd done unless they played or were mates. Or the womens hockey team trashed the bar because they'd won/lost/thursday...

Yay? UMM qualified for the division III football semifinals. They play in Wisconsin tomorrow. So today, the campus is empty, and only one person showed up for cell biology. Lecturing to a bunch of empty seats is kind of depressing.

Protip: You don't have to leetcode or invent a new kind of physics to land a senior engineer job, just knowing how stuff really works is great.

🎉 Spade 0.5.0 is out 🎉
Some highlights:
- Write tests using Verilator enabling much faster and longer simulations
- Install synthesis, place and route tools and simulators in just 1 command via https://github.com/YosysHQ/oss-cad-suite-build. Now you can go from fresh Linux install to a blinky on an FPGA in just a few fully automated commands.
- Lots of new documentation for both the language and its tooling over at

Clippy has proven to be punishing, however 😂
Cross-platform building + packaging on releases was a bit of a pain. I had previously built on Travis (RIP) and appveyor using the `trust` template. Moving to GH Actions involved cargo culting what I found in cardinal-rs's repo
Making things compile was simple: upgraded the Graphics-related libs to the latest version and made changes that the compiler suggested. Took no more than 10-20 mins.
