While the term “HTML Web Components” is fresh out of the oven, the architecture it refers to has been sitting on the counter at room temperature for a while. In this post I offer my insights and musings from a year of working with these components.

Using HTML web components (esp with tools like @astro) has been a deeply refreshing and encouraging method of building interactive UI. I think it really has the potential to change how we build the web.

I've gotten into the habit of writing most of my command line tools to require an argument even if the argument doesn't do anything. Especially for anything potentially destructive. That way, if you just type the command with no arguments, you will get some help telling you what the command does and why'd you run it without causing any harm. A lot of my placeholder arguments are just "go".

I don't want to discourage straight people from including gay stuff in their work, but if the gay romance you're making is 1. completely standalone and 2. completely a funny little novelty, or your treatise on the frivolousness of romance media, maybe take a moment to reflect on your motivations.
