Would you or your company like to #sponsor or host #FunctionalProgramming events in the Delhi-NCR region?

We at #FPIndia are starting to organise in-person events. There's an #Elixir+FP meetup on 5 Aug, and a #Rust+FP meetup on 26 Aug.

If you want to help us organise more, DM me!

good, it is not idempotent. we likes this.

The most beneficial writing habit I’ve acquired is to remember to just write first.

When I stopped worrying about things like tone, grammar, spelling, and structure, my first drafts got longer.

Longer first drafts gave me more clay to mold or remove later.

And you know what? Sometimes I keep the non-traditional sentence or two, that make the piece fun. I don’t get that opportunity when I edit as I write. (I still edit as I write but I’m getting better ☺️)

@fromjason I just decided to make it my whole blog because the cross-linking you can do as part of a digital garden is incredibly convenient. Especially when you want to go back and revisit some of your earlier work or earlier articles; you can literally transclude the text that you wrote before and comment on it, expand on it, reference it.

If you're going along and think "somebody might want more information about that later," you just make it a link to a note you haven't written yet and then go ahead and write that when the mood strikes you. You automatically get connection between articles that talk about the same things.

At this point flat blogging just wouldn't satisfy me anymore. I wish wiki-style reference interfaces were the norm for such things so that maybe we could get cross-platform wiki-style reference and transclusion.

(Ah, PROJECT XANADU. How we miss you.)

Lots of people came to the #Mastodon stand at #FOSDEM today. That was pretty cool. I’ve had a number of lengthy conversations about features, challenges, and so on. We sold a lot of mugs, which makes me happy because it’s my favorite item we’ve made. We’ll be there again tomorrow. Building H, level one.

Feels great to post this here knowing I won't get a million ads for it in my feed.

I mean, sure, #Meta already added this account to my file, so I'll see the ads on IG, but that's show biz baby.
