Two things are true at the same time:
- Calling the FBI over someone posting about the concept of hammer-covered car exploding near you (not the actual threat to do so) is…wow. I have no words.2. Making such a post on a site owned by the target of the post, in the middle of getting your account reviewed, is not going to end well for your account.
I’ve seen a lot of people counter the first point by bringing up the second. But despite the fact that the second point is true, such a bizarre level of public punching-down is unwarranted. This wasn’t an actual threat of violence. Drawing attention to the latter point to eclipse the former point isn’t a well-balanced response, even before taking into account the context leading up to the incident.

Serious question: do all programming languages get made fun of? Or is it only certain ones?
I'm realizing JavaScript, PHP, and CSS are pretty commonly the butt of programming humor. But to the best of my knowledge, I have literally never seen a joke or meme about Python, Ruby, Rust, Go, barely even Java.
Is this because I don't operate in those circles? Do I just see the languages I'm close to?
Or is it just fashionable to make fun of certain languages and not others?

The press coverage of the situation has been *atrocious*. Apple's out here trying to shiv the best chance for an alternative to the App Store, breaking civic and public sector tech along the way, and the press is doing Cupertino press release stenography.
Folks who publish on websites are whistling past the open plot as Apple plans of the demise of the web's potential.

What Apple is going to do to PWAs in less than two weeks in the EU is dastardly.
Their goal is to remove the only versions of Push, Fullscreen, Homescreen Icons, and Badging that didn't require paying them to be in the App Store *and make sure no other browser can have them either*.
They tried to sneak it under the noise of the alt-store drama, in a clearly premeditated fashion.
It's no exaggeration to say they've gone to war with the web & we don't owe the benefit of the doubt ever again.
