The only advantage Signal has over Wire is that usernames are not necessarily visible to contacts. But the problem is still there.

Macrophotgraphy gives us glimpses into countless tiny, alien worlds all around us.

Example: a few months ago, I went on a walk to a waterfall with my camera. On a mist-soaked log nearby, I found this tiny Penthaleid mite happily munching away on a vibrant purple cluster of Kōtukutuku tree fuchsia pollen.

At only a couple of millimetres in length, the mite had no idea I was there, watching it hungrily devouring this feast.
