  • [Hi all my amazing art directors. I just wanted to send out an email regarding some concerning messaging around AI I've seen online from Hasbro's CEO Chris Cocks in an interview with GamesBeat. "First off, we're doing R&D efforts around AI... D&D has 50 years of content that we can mine. Literally thousands of adventures that we've created, probably tens of millions of words we own and can leverage."
If Chris Cocks or anyone else in senior positions at Hasbro or Wizards of the Coast thinks the works I or other artists, art directors, writers, dungeon masters or creative humans have poured into these games are "content that we can mine" with AI, then I will have to take my future creative energy elsewhere. Which is sad, because Magic and D&D are probably one of, if not the most fun projects I've worked on in my creative career.

I know I'm just one artist among many, but I'm probably not alone. These brands have been built on the creativity of human artists, art directors, writers, game designers... the lot. And it would be an insult to not only the creative individuals who have done this work, but to the fans who love these games because of the immense creativity put into it.

Hopefully Wizards will not head down this route. I hope this email is one of numerous that other artists have sent in, so hopefully it will put pressure on senior decision makers. All the best. I hope we can continue working together in the future building fun, creative worlds.][8] ([remote][9])

I had a meeting this morning with my Risk team and some external auditors and after I asked some questions I got a Slack message from my CISO saying "You sound like you've done this before."

It's my first time doing audit stuff at this job but I got a crash course in audit shenanigans back in 2011 when I started in security.

My first security job was when I joined the security team at the hospital system I worked for back in 2011. I was the first technical member of the team which was, until then, two people with audit backgrounds. But one of them worked at Radio Shack in the 1980s so she was definitely a computer expert, I guess?

Anyhow, I learned a lot about the basics of responding to auditors as a technical person.

The first rule is: *Ask clarifying questions"

The second rule is: *Threaten to overwhelm them with data if the answers are still unclear."

You mean you *don't* actually want 5TB of auth logs? Screenshots of assorted times across the audit period will work instead? *Imagine that!* 🤣
