So, a follow up on this. Wizards reached out to me today & we jumped on a call. They thanked me for being vocal about it, they agreed, & they reiterated their commitment as company to continue supporting human creativity & to not use AI. So that's good to hear.

I don't write for praise. I was well aware that my writing styles aren't for everyone. But most of these comments by grown adult men, have the spirit of a vindictive twelve year old boy.
I hate to dwell on this because I've had more people reach out with kind words, but this is wild.

Twitter is dying. TikTok is about to be banned. Meta has its claws deep into Mastodon and ActivityPub. Social media as a whole is shifting towards becoming a hostile place for dissenting voices and activists.
TikTok is not without its flaws. And there may come a time when the tool proves not as useful anymore.
But in this moment, right now, TikTok is the move. If we lose this platform, those who live on the margins will be worse off for it.

I knew we didn't have solidarity with each other. Like, I get that Americans have this innate hatred for working class folks. But rarely have I seen it manifested as strongly as this looming Tiktok seizure.
People are tripping over themselves to let the world know how elated they are that this will disrupt our ability to organize and disperse information. And it's happening in the name of some weird digital nationalism where we think we're better because of the platform we use.

I've sent this email to art directors I've worked with at Wizards of the Coast. I hope other Magic or D&D artists will do the same or similar.
If Chris Cocks or anyone else in senior positions at Hasbro or Wizards of the Coast thinks the works I or other artists, art directors, writers, dungeon masters or creative humans have poured into these games are "content that we can mine" with AI, then I will have to take my future creative energy elsewhere. Which is sad, because Magic and D&D are probably one of, if not the most fun projects I've worked on in my creative career.
I know I'm just one artist among many, but I'm probably not alone. These brands have been built on the creativity of human artists, art directors, writers, game designers... the lot. And it would be an insult to not only the creative individuals who have done this work, but to the fans who love these games because of the immense creativity put into it.
Hopefully Wizards will not head down this route. I hope this email is one of numerous that other artists have sent in, so hopefully it will put pressure on senior decision makers. All the best. I hope we can continue working together in the future building fun, creative worlds.][8] ([remote][9])
