In Settings > Safari, the “Default Browser App” option for choosing a different default browser is hidden. But if you set your default browser in that browser’s own settings, then in Settings > Safari, “Default Browser App” will appear.

So, Dorsey distanced himself from BlueSky, while still retaining control, giving use permission to join without the taint of his presence
He then went to Nostr to bide his time and appease the block bros.
That feels more plausible than him just handing over his company to Jay Gruber.

The idea of BlueSky is not federation it is GDPR and moderation avoidance while ensuring everything remains public.
Once everything is federatable, there won't be anyone to blame for misleading content. You don't like it, it'll be up to you to choose the right moderation service.
Once that happens you'll pay BlueSky for a tailored experience.
That's my take on the existence of the business.
I still like the tech though.

I know the narrative is that he now doesn't have as much power and influence over the platform and protocol. But what is that based on? The fact that he deleted his BlueSky account and now hangs on Nostr?

Not only that, FB executives used that data to trick founders into thinking Facebook was interested in an acquisition by inviting them to continuous meetings.
Once Zuck had the info he needed, they cut off communication and copied the app's flagship feature.
But that's definitely not what #Meta is doing with #Mastodon. 🙃

When sewing, it transports the fabric in a zig-zag motion along the outline of the buttonhole that is defined by the template. Finally, the thread is sewn up by hand, and the slot between the two zig-zag lines is opened up with a razor blade, and – tadaaa – there is a button hole! (remote)
