I developed a dislike to another category of #photography, in addition to flowers. For context, I consider shooting flowers to be the cheapest way to look like you're doing something: they always come out good.
So another one is birds shot with a long focus. You don't need skill, you need a huge-ass, expensive lens and a bird filling up the entire frame right in the center. You're pretty much guaranteed sharp focus with terrific bokeh, and birds are pretty already. Not interesting!

I instinctually keep a mental note of all the writers I come across who blog unapologetically at and about Big Tech.
The past decade, blogging has become unbearably polite, as to not ruffle our gatekeepers' feathers. Devs and project managers for the largest platforms became our mutuals. Anyone who doesn't toe the line is quickly ostracized. So, we play nice.
Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I feel a shift. Shout out to all the #BlogPunks

@dizzy There's an impact to effective moderation, too, and its burden on users. Say you have a 1000-user instance. With the current system 10 users flag a problem instance. The admin looks, realises it's full of abuse, and blocks it. 990 users don't need to waste their time with that.
Under the pro-Meta talking point system, a harmful instance can still keep reaching users until all 1,000 of them encounter harmful content themselves and block it. And even when they do, the admin doesn't know.

Well #JSNakedDay will continue for a few more hours but if I can share one quick story on how I became radicalized before the clock hits midnight.
Back during 2020 during the height of the COVID pandemic we needed to order stuff from Canadian Tire.
Aside: Canadian Tire sells more than tires just like Wal-Mart sells other things besides walls.
Anyway, because of the new reality of having to pick up stuff from poorly paid teenagers in a parking lot Canadian Tire revamped their website.
