Watching the Apple event this morning, and presenters have used the term "AI" twice so far. It was almost jarring. I've never heard Apple use the term before.

Since I'm here, I'll just add that proprietary software app stores and the like have never been about quality. It's about rapidly and cheaply (in the sense of letting others do the work) creating a "market" a vendor can point at to bolster whatever platform they're shilling. Copying the form and function of these things without thinking through their purpose is likely a mistake.

Yeah, I know nobody says they want to run untrusted code (except maybe the cloud providers), but that's what we've settled on as acceptable.

Anyway, as a computer user, I want [a well put together free software system] so that I can [better trust the code I run].

We've been listening to people who've had trouble upgrading to ESLint v9.0.0. There's bee a lot of "flat config isn't ready", but that's reductionist. We've identified three areas that people are having trouble with:

1. Flat config. It's new, it's different, it takes time to wrap your head around. Things don't work the same way as eslintrc. Most folks figure it out. Sometimes that involves using the FlatCompat utility to use eslintrc configs. The docs are here to help:

Climate change doesn't fit the model of "insurance." It's not a low probability, high impact event that randomly affects a small subset of assets, with a low total cost relative to the whole pool of assets at risk.

Converting an sRGB color to P3 does not make it “pop”. It doesn't change it at all.

If you *want* to make it pop, do so by boosting the chroma in a space like OKLCH. P3 *does* give you more room to boost.
