I'm trying to track down a specific song to share with a friend, and I am blanking on both the name and the band, so I'm asking Mastodon, here goes:
Does anyone recall the name of the song by the contemporary Mongolian folk/rock band about a guy who loves his tractor?
Update: Thank you to @cassana! It is Shono with Kolkhozoy Traktor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQFn8HvUJW0

Hello, world!
We are FAFO, a non-profit semiconductor and analytical chemistry research lab in Munich.
We exist to bring together people and tools necessary to advance not the cutting edge of manufacturing, but the cutting edge of making bathtub semiconductors and other Weird Hacks in your local hackerspace.
We've just rented out our first location and brought in a gorgeous 1980s JEOL T330A SEM. Restoring it to working condition is our first project, and this is where we'll keep you posted.

Can't remember if I shared this here before - a fantasy short story I wrote when I first realised that I'm autistic and had to decide whether or not I'd try for official diagnosis.
Scorched
“Okay. Here we are, then.” Monica pulled the car to a gentle halt. “Now, you’re sure—”
Appel already had her seat-belt unbuckled. She suppressed her impatience as her mother put a hand on her arm.
“Sweetheart, you’re sure-sure that you don’t want me to come in with you?” Monica said earnestly. “You know I don’t mind…”

The turn indicator was still on, the sound nagging at Appel’s attention.
“It’s fine, Mom.” It took an effort to keep her voice calm and relaxed. She smiled and glanced at her mother’s eyes, establishing that moment of intimacy she knew Monica expected and valued. “I need to learn to do these things by myself, don’t I?”Read the rest of the story here:

you know it'd be cool to run a "beyond the conventional" research presentation workshop. like we just submit in comics, zines, short movies and whatnot and the conference is just us setting up artist alley-esque tables to display whatever we made.
it'd definitely be way more fun than a poster session.
