exposure of intelligence agency employee identifying information can get ppl killed. this is an historic counterintelligence fiasco.

Note to hachyderm.io users, who can't see this on their server (which I'm mentioning because another one just asked me about it):

the hachyderm admins blocked me personally and i still have no idea why

coincidentally Nivenly, the company running hachyderm, got into an AI grift and I loudly called it an AI grift. This suggests the reasons are simple and commercial.

they have apparently denied that their AI grift was the reason but haven't said what the reason was

and they haven't contacted me at all and certainly nobody is paying me enough to bother to contact these weirdos

it's a mastodon feature: forum admins with poster's madness

so basically find a non-shitty server or spin up an akkoma yourself

feel free to copy and forward this as appropriate

edit: there was apparently a bug raised, and i'm definitely not wasting my time attempting communication with these circumlocuitious scammy sounding weirdos. Perhaps you will wish to. https://github.com/hachyderm/community/issues/579

We all know about the Pioneer Plaque and Voyager’s Golden Record but have you seen the ‘Water Words’ on the Europa Clipper. It is a plate made of tantalum and has the waveforms of the sound of the word water in 103 languages engraved on one side.
Its a plate of semiotic beauty and I hope future lifeforms will not listen to it backwards.

You know what, I think I'm done censoring myself and not reacting to wrong takes, which was my default position of many years. We can't afford being neutral and quiet anymore.

Current mood: I'm really frustrated with lefties turning everything into a purity test. If we want to counteract the world's descent into fascism, we need to learn not to call each other "enemies" for random transgressions like buying a Tesla car or not being vegan or whatever.

I've got fed experience through contracting with Health & Human Safety, Head Start, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and DOD. I get brought in when people need to get shit done. Other people here have way more experience than me.

Just an FYI that Direct File is indeed still up and running. It's still being actively developed, improvements are coming (Spanish is now live! Importing W-2 info is coming!).

It has NOT been cancelled or closed.

Please use it if you qualify, it's genuinely good software built by people who care about the public good and want to get people the credits and refunds they're entitled to.

TBH, the more people use it the harder it will be for it to be shut down after this tax season.
